We’re hiring an Estimator I to drive estimating, design and bidding across all commercial and industrial fencing and gate/access system projects in the Western U.S.
You’ll report a lead estimator and collaborate across operations, business development, and field teams to shape scalable solutions and winning proposals. Success in this role unlocks future leadership opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Develop bid packages in Bid2Win software
Review drawings and specifications from Contract Documents (RFP, Specifications) to determine quantities and to calculate pricing.
Communicate and and interact with subcontractors in various trades to obtain pricing for projects.
Determine quantities of materials in various trades
Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits to assess the conditions of the site or existing building, as necessary.
Solicit and receive bids, reviewing for scopes of work and pricing for completeness.
Communicate with bidders for final overview and assures completeness of bid prior to inclusion in an estimate or bid.
Review drawings and specifications for assigned portions of Preconstruction Projects to calculate budgets from schematic through final construction documents as assigned.
Communicate with team members and others as required regarding scopes, pricing, construction details, etc.
Perform detailed take-off for self-performed work
Price work as required to budget for most trades.
Attend kick-off meeting with Estimators, Project Manager, and Superintendents.
Participate in presentations to owners and architects as needed.
You are someone with the intellectual sharpness, self-leadership, and operational rigor to help shape the future of RoadGuard’s growth in the Western U.S.
This is a key succession role for our division. We are investing in someone who can grow into more senior estimating or operations position and help scale both people and systems as RoadGuard expands nationally.
Must-Haves
Preferred but Not Required
Bachelor’s degree preferred in engineering, construction technology, or architecture
Experience estimating heavy civil infrastructure preferred.
Experience with estimating software (B2W preferred).
