The Superintendent II serves as a member of the Frontline Operations Team and reports to the General Superintendent. This position is a keystone role for driving the success of the organization. The primary responsibilities are to ensure safety, quality, delivery, production, costs, and training objectives while also performing hands-on duties on the job site. Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily activities of workers and subcontractors on construction and installation projects.
  • Oversee the installation of equipment and components, providing technical input and guidance as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with approved contracts, specifications, safety protocols, and project schedules.
  • Coordinate delivery, staging, and placement of materials, tools, and equipment to support efficient project execution.
  • Monitor productivity and work quality, addressing performance, safety, or process concerns in real time.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve site issues that may impede project delivery, expediting solutions to maintain momentum.
  • Track and report daily progress, performance, and potential delays or changes to project management.
  • Serve as a liaison between the field and management, keeping stakeholders informed on inspections, progress, and risks.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in construction industry to include: job management, and knowledge of building products and services.
  • Proven ability to accurately interpret the scope, specification (including blueprints) and timeliness of customer plans, while meeting profitability goals established by the company.
  • Ability to motivate teams to produce quality projects within provided deadlines
  • Proven ability to simultaneously manage projects and crews.
  • Strong communication skills: ability to speak clearly and persuasively in all situations.
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Ability to have schedule flexibility, with or without notice, to accommodate the needs of the business.
  • Must have working knowledge of company provided hardware and web-based technology systems.
  • Valid driver’s license required; Class A CDL or ability to obtain within 4 months of offer acceptance
  • Ability to regularly lift/move up to 100 pounds
  • Ability use pneumatic, battery powered or electric tools
  • Ability to travel extensively

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prefer 1 year of experience as a Superintendent.
  • Experience in guardrail and fence construction.
  • Strong skills with Excel and exposure to Bid2Win, Smartsheet & VISTA

 

Work Environment

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.  

  • Climates vary in temperature both hot and cold.
  • The noise level in the work environment is moderate and hearing protection is often required.
  • Exposure to characteristic construction site dangers.
  • Regular heavy lifting (75lbs+) of construction materials on the job site.

Travel: Travel required; likely 30%+ travel

 

Compensation: $40 - $45/hr
